AMTANZ Ltd is led by Andrew (Andy) Skerrett an experienced Civil and Traffic Engineer. Andrew has over 30 years of practical experience both local and international. Born in Cornwall in the UK Andrew moved to New Plymouth in 1996 to take up a position with Beca Ltd. Andrew spent 21 years with Beca leading the civil team in New Plymouth and has had an input into many significant projects in the region. In 2017 Andrew looked for change in career to better serve the local market. Since then Andrew has worked with both government agencies and private business to provide traffic, civil engineering and asset management advice.
During his time in New Plymouth Andrew has been actively involved in the local community.
Andrew is passionate about his pass times, first and foremost is sailing, closely followed by cycling (both on the road and mountain biking), football (soccer) and farming his life style block.
Andrew has been an active member of the greatest yacht club on the west coast of New Zealand New Plymouth Yacht Club. He sits on both the sailing and executive committees and is a past commodore of the club. He has also been involved in the organising of numerous North Island and National Regattas and has been a judge and protest committee member at a number of regattas.
Whilst not a competitive cyclist, Andrew cycles between 100 and 200km a week to keep fit and to keep up with his son on the mountain bike.
As a parent Andrew has assisted with his children's football teams as they have progressed through the schooling system.
Andrew and his partner run an Arabian horse stud on their lifestyle block just north of Inglewood.
